Introducing Róisín, the second and most mischievous of our three mucky pups. 😊🌼
For those of us unfamiliar with the Irish language; here are some helpful tips for pronunciation and translation.
Róisín: Little Rose - Rowsheen
Ráth. : Fort - Raw
Póg. : Kiss - powg
Beag. : Small - beeug
Fionn. : Blonde\golden hair - Fyun
Àlainn : Beautiful - Awlinn
RóisíN
We won't be lonely on the top of Ráth,
Cos we've the best girl that you ever saw.
Our little pixie has eyes of blue,
And a face as fresh as the morning dew.
From her silken hair to her satin feet,
She's the prettiest bundle you could meet.
Once a twinkling star in the sky,
We watch her grow as the days go by.
Her pains are smoothed over with one small póg,
And soon she is smiling, just like a rogue.
When summer comes 'round every July,
We'll celebrate our baby's first cry.
With her soft, sweet breath and cute button nose,
Hearts have been stolen by our little rose.
As for us folks, in love we have fallen,
With our Róisín beag, fionn, álainn.
